18 Most Badass Comic Book Assassins

18. Taskmaster

Although he hasn't always been portrayed as an assassin (or, indeed, as a villain), Taskmaster has certainly operated in that mould often enough to merit inclusion here. His association with Deadpool and his excellent character design have made him one of the most quietly popular villains in the Marvel universe - to the extent that he is often portrayed as an anti-hero instead. Taskmaster's ability is effectively mimicry, as he is able to instantaneously learn the powers of his opponents and use them himself. This also allows him to predict the actions of his targets, making him a highly-efficient killer. Deadpool is, in fact, the only character that Taskmaster can''t mimic, owing to the fact that Wade Wilson is insane and utterly unpredictable. With an impressive set of weapons at his disposal and the fact that he personally trained many of the most skilled fighters in Marvel's franchise, Taskmaster is one of Marvel's greatest assassins. It's just a shame that his powers of mimicry have an adverse effect on his long-term memory, meaning that he can barely remember his own personal details.
