Early comics, because of that wish-fulfillment thing mentioned earlier, weren't shy about making Hitler an out-and-out goofball. In a literary exercise by Superman's creators titled "How Superman Would End the War," Superman broke into Hitler's bunker and fished him out to make him answer for crimes against humanity. Hitler's attempts at resisting Superman were as pathetic as just about everyone else's. The classic moment of "Goofy Golden Age Hitler," though, is the scene where Captain America and Bucky break in on a cowering Hitler and Goering. The two Nazis charged, arguing with each other as they both want to attack "the little one" and spare themselves a beating from Captain America, at least for a little bit. Bucky cheerfully beat them both to a pulp.
