Superman's outfit is essentially a tight blue bodysuit with his iconic symbol on the chest, a red pair of underpants over the top of it and a flowing red cape. It sounds ridiculous (and, when you actually think about it, it really is) but it has become so iconic and so synonymous with Superman's heroism that it's hard to dismiss it as having become anything other than cool. If it was worn by the average male, it would look somewhat silly, but with Superman's rippled form it portrays him as a formidable deterrent for any would-be wrong-doer. Kids around the world love dressing up as their favourite Kryptonian and the costume in question has undoubtedly overcome the mockery it was once so often subjected to, but the stigma that is still somewhat attached to the red underpants means it only just makes the list.
