When the comic book industry started struggling in the '90s, both Marvel and DC were forced to take drastic measures to stay afloat. That included a bizarre crossover between the two which saw their characters combined to create entirely new heroes with looks and characteristics from both worlds. In Daredevil's case, he was combined with Deathstroke. It was an odd decision, especially as he became a she. In the Amalgam reality, Slade Murdock was a blind mercenary who had horns implanted in her head by Enigma Fisk, New Gotham City's mayor. Despite being blind, she also wore an eye patch after having one eye shot out by a criminal, something which didn't make a lot of sense, just like this crossover!
