One recent development though is the addition of a solar flare power which he discovered after pushing his heat vision to the max in a battle with a deadly new foe known as Ulysses. Releasing all of the pent up solar energy in Superman's system, this blast can incinerate everything within a quarter of a mile, but there's a slight catch. After draining himself this way, the Man of Steel is left powerless for 24 hours, making him as human as everyone else on Earth. It's an interesting development, and the fallout is set to be explored in March's issue of Superman's series.
