8. Captain America Wasn't Part Of The Original Team

Captain America is the leader of The Avengers in the comics and has been seen in that role on the big screen too. However, he didn't actually join the ranks of Earth's Mightiest Heroes until their fourth issue when the team found him encased in a block of ice.
