14. Marvel Didn't Trademark "The Avengers" Until 1970
It took Marvel a while to realise that they had a hit on their hands with The Avengers, as they didn't make a move to trademark the team's name until 1967, and that wasn't all finalised until 1970. That delay caused problems in the UK decades later as The Avengers TV show pre-dated the comic book, forcing Disney to come up with a new title for the superhero ensemble. They settled on Avengers Assemble, a phase never used in the movie.
