7. He's A... Racist?

In a very '60s story, Hal Jordan and Green Arrow set off on a journey to help normal Americans accompanied by one of the Guardians of Oa in disguise. At the time, it was a pretty effective story which did tackle some very relevant issues, but a truly bizarre moment came when a downtrodden Green Lantern was accused of being a racist by an angry black man. It now reads almost like a parody as he berates the superhero for helping the blue and orange skins, but not... the black skins?! It's hard to say what DC Comics were trying to achieve here, especially as a Hal is unable to defend himself from these accusations.
