8. He Started Off Being Grey

When the Hulk first appeared, he was grey. However, the printers were unable to keep the colour a consistent shade, leading Stan Lee to change him to the much easier to print green. The colour of this early version of the character was the least of his problems though. In these early comics, Bruce was the one who had to trigger the transformation by bathing himself with gamma rays on purpose. Before that, he only became the Hulk at night, similar to a vampire or werewolf. The weirdest example though has to be the fact that Banner once transformed and kept his human head, leading to him wearing a Hulk mask. Seriously!
