3. Marvel Vs. Ed Norton

When notoriously fussy actor Ed Norton joined The Incredible Hulk as Bruce Banner, it was under the condition that he would be allowed to do a page one rewrite on the screenplay. Marvel agreed and went ahead and shot his version, but the studio - who always has the final cut - decided to cut out a lot of the wordier segments and serious suicide driven subplot he had introduced to create a shorter and more action-packed movie. Screaming matches ensued and the two sides stopped talking, and after refusing to help promote the film, Marvel decided to just recast the role by hiring Mark Ruffalo for The Avengers.
