20 Most Controversial Comics Covers Of All Time

12. Catwoman #1

Catwoman has a long history of overly sexualized depictions; however, DC really did itself a disfavour by publishing this cover. This was the cover for the first issue of their Catwoman title that was a part of their New 52 reboot. You€™d think that DC would have produced a comic that would have been a little less sexually provocative €“ especially since DC was trying to attract new, untapped markets€ like maybe female readers. Nevertheless, DC decided to go with a playboy pin up of Catwoman with her breasts practically hanging out. Not to mention that diamonds she spilling across her chest is a bit heavy handed. The whole cover smacks of sexism.

Since childhood, Bryant has been an avid fan of superheroes, and he has been reading comic books since 2006. His full name is "George Bryant Lucas"; however, after enduring countless Darth Vader jokes, he has chosen to go by his middle name. Born and raised in the United States, Bryant is currently living with his lovely wife in the country side of Wiltshire County, UK. Bryant does suffer from a mild case of dyslexia; misspellings and homonyms are to be expected on occasion.
