The big bad for Snyder’s first Batman story wasn’t a classic supervillain, but Jim Gordon’s own son, James Junior. With this choice, Snyder showed an impulse for personal storytelling from the beginning, and Jim struggling with the nature of his son is definitely the best part of the run.
