3. Stargirl and/or Catwoman
If Justice League and Justice League Dark are losing big names then Justice League of America need to feel the burn too (and Steve Trevor doesnt count!). Plus it wouldnt be fair to discount the ladies from the bloodshed, right? So heres the idea either Catwoman or Stargirl or both wind up on the chopping block. Stargirl has seemed like an arbitrary choice since her appearance in the JLA. Shes not really been given much time in the pages to develop as a real character and she seems more like a glorified cheerleader and/or spokesperson for the group who doesn't really get involved in their missions despite having superpowers. She feels left out and undeveloped and this might be deliberate as Geoff Johns has included her all along to become the sacrificial lamb from her group to die in this Event. But because Stargirl isnt that big a name and probably wont cause as much shock, a bigger name from the group might join her and/or replace her death entirely Catwoman. Selina Kyle has already been killed in the JLA series (JLA #4, which turned out to be - surprise! - a fakeout) but could be foreshadowing from Johns for her real death in this series. Shes also a big enough name for people outside the comics reading community to become interested as shes known to many movie watchers from her appearances in Tim Burtons Batman Returns and the ill-fated Halle Berry Catwoman movie from 2004. It'd probably grab a few, much coveted, newspaper headlines.
