5 Incredibly Weird Things From The Avengers Comics In The 60s

4. The Hulk Works At A Circus

5picture 5 Still in the first issue, Loki creates an illusion of the Hulk for the heroes to pursue. Thor soon exposes the ruse and returns to Asgard to confront Loki; meanwhile, Iron Man and Ant-Man are tasked with tracking down the real Hulk. And just where is he? Working at a circus. Posing as €œMechano, the most powerful, lifelike robot on earth,€ Hulk juggles safari animals for the amusement of the crowd. Somehow, nobody connects the dots between an impossibly strong green robot and an impossibly strong green man. Super genius Ant-Man asserts that the performer COULD be the Hulk. However, sooner than later he discovers the truth and tries to take him down with the help of the Wasp and his army of mentally controlled ants. The crowd believes it€™s all part of the show. Eventually, Hulk gets fed up and wipes off his clown make-up, revealing his identity. Picture 6 Iron Man shows up and the fight moves away from the people and into the desert. The circus promoters presumably went down in history as the guys who made the strongest man on Earth prance around in a clown suit.
