5 Parts Of Being A Superhero You Might Not Have Considered

4. Seamstressing (Repairing the Wear and Tear to Your Costume)

superman Under most circumstances, your costume is made of fabric. Some heroes might have elaborate battle armor, magical costumes, or (like Green Lantern) sciencey glowy outfits made of light, but in most cases superheroes stick with the spandex. When facing a particularly dangerous enemy, one of the ways to show the increased struggle is battle damage. That means your costume is going to get ripped. Maybe it€™s just four scratches along the chest; maybe it€™s like Tobey Maguire at the end of Spider-Man. Either way, unless you want to expose your secret identity, it€™s up to you to patch those holes. Presumably you know your way around a sewing machine (you made the costume in the first place) but in trying to juggle your heroic responsibilities and your civilian life, you might not have time to fix your suit immediately, especially if it€™s only a few rips. You really want to deal with the guilt of letting people die because you didn€™t want to show up in a shabby costume?
