4. The Lack Of Actor's Likenesses In The Artwork
If you've seen some of the images thus far, you'll find that the likeness of the characters is actually kept rather well. Now, I get that artists are working full time and cannot get everything perfect (I for one totally accept that Rick has both hands in the occasional panel of a Walking Dead comic, especially considering that it's the same guy every month), and that the likenesses were a real treasure to see, as it kept us familiar with the show, helping us to transcend back to the comic book world. Again, I must present a however. Unfortunately, and ironically around the same time as the storyline drop off, the artists rendering of Tom Welling or Erica Durance's likenesses really reduced to some generic Superman and Lois Lane that we've seen a million times before in a million other comics. The reason that this comic is so special, and read at all, is because it's a continuation of the series! A series we want to remain familiar with. In the case of recurring characters (which is really all we had left by the end of the season), they still couldn't get the likenesses right, with Kara/Supergirl looking like some generic blond-haired doll, and I even had to Google who the hell was Brainiac 5 was supposed to be. Once again, it appears as though they have stepped up their game and returned to form with Season 12. Thank God. Also, can we not sexualise the computerised Tess/Watchtower? It's just creepy. Yet again, they improved upon this slightly in Season 12. They even thought about it and refused to give her clothes. Weird.
