6 Best LGBT Comic Book Characters

4. John Constantine (Hellblazer)

Even though it's never really established if John Constantine is bisexual or simply bicurious, it's encouraging to see that he's not afraid to experiment with his sexuality. There's a distinct lack of bisexual characters in comics, and even fewer male bi characters. As well as admitting in Hellblazer #51 that he's had 'the odd boyfriend' in the past, in Hellblazer #6, the very real issue that faces LGBT people was addressed - the practice known as 'gay bashing'. Later in the series we find out that those that assaulted Constantine were working at the behest of Nergal, which is slightly disappointing. Because in real life, people who go around bashing gays aren't doing it because they're taking orders from a demon. They're doing it simply because they're gross, intolerant douchebags.
