2. Renee Montoya, aka The Question (Batman/Gotham Central)
Renee Montoya, the latest incarnation of The Question, has not had an easy life. For a start, she's spent the greater majority of her life cleaning the streets of a hellhole like Gotham. Secondly, everyone from her religious family to her workplace has at one point or another thrown a fit over the fact that Montoya is a lesbian. Yup. Montoya likes to lock lips with the ladies when she's not locking them up in the ol' hoosegow. Hide your kids, hide your wife! Montoya is a strong character, but she's not perfect. She's a workaholic, and she has anger issues. But here's the thing - personality flaws can be fixed. Sexual orientations aren't, and can't. If Montoya is to be judged, she should be on the basis of what she does, not who she is. If people can't accept her lesbianism, then that's their loss. Oh, and she got to kiss Batwoman. How cool is that?
