The comic book world is rife with alternate universes. in Marvel, these multiple planes of existence are known as "earths". Most Marvel stories take place in Earth-616. This is the universe in which our beloved Wolverine passed away. There have, however, been a multitude of alternate universe Wolvies established in comics. Reality-hopping team The Exiles encountered a team of alternate Wolverines who banded together to defeat a mutant named Brother Mutant. Deadpool discovered a bounty hunter Wolverine in a Wild West universe. There are almost limitless possibilities for the Marvel team to bring in a new and exciting Wolverine. It isn't hard to imagine a situation on Earth-616 where the world needs Wolverine to combat a unique threat. Presumably, a Reed Richards or Doctor Strange would be tasked with finding and retrieving a suitable alternative Wolverine. Once found, this version of Logan may or may not be willing to relocate. It would also be intriguing to watch his adjustment to life in a new reality; friends who were dead are still alive. Friends who were alive are dead. Allies are enemies and enemies are allies, and so on... It's all but guaranteed that any version of Logan brought into Earth-616 will want to look into the fate of his counterpart. Just as mainstream Wolverine obsessively dug into his own past, this Wolverine would likely retrace that path. This could eventually lead to a heated discussion with Charles Xavier that ends with Xavier leading Logan to the remains of the other Wolverine. Touching the adamantium tomb could either be a very deep and touching moment, or it could create an inter dimensional, psychic paradox that sends the living Wolverine into a crazed frenzy. However it plays out, the point is that the Marvel multiverse has a menagerie of Wolverines from which to choose. They need only to fire up the portal and go to work. What if the Marvel Zombies Wolverine is accidentally brought to Earth-616 , and that becomes the threat that necessitates finding a new Logan?
