7. Infinity
The Event: The spiritual sequel to The Infinity Gauntlet, Infinity tells of a thrilling battle on two fronts. When an emerging alien threat in deep space threatens all of existence, most of the Avengers leave Earth to help defeat it. With the Earth mostly unoccupied by heroes, however Thanos sees an opportunity to invade and the remaining Avengers must stop him, resulting in two epic battles fought by two disparate rosters of superheroes.
How It Could Work On Film: Despite it being clear that Infinity War is going to be taking influence from The Infinity Gauntlet, this event could provide just as much inspiration to the story. One of its great successes was how it balanced the use of characters, making every member of its sprawling cast feel important and keeping the action flowing on multiple fronts.
A threat to Earth while most of the Avengers are out in space creates a dynamic conflict to cut back to, helping pace the films and potentially establishing why the conflict would need two parts, since it would essentially be two movies worth of plot. Logically, this would also allow Marvel to include all of their characters and while explaining why characters like Hawkeye or Black Panther, who dont belong in deep space, could stay on Earth and still be involved.
