7 Things You Didn't Know About Marvel's SECRET Infinity Stone
1. Will The Ego Stone Appear In The MCU?
The 2020 film, Eternals, will be the live-action debut of Sersi and the Black Knight; two characters that played vital roles in the Avengers/Ultraforce storyline. Sersi is the only Marvel character to wield the Ego Stone and the Black Knight was the one who killed Nemesis.
Although Sersi used the Ego Stone in the comics, that doesn't mean Marvel can just shove it into the Eternals movie for the sake of it. There needs to be a connection.
Luckily, there is one.
What character is connected to the Infinity Stones more than anyone? Thanos. Not only are Thanos and Sersi both Eternals, they are cousins. Since the film will explore cosmic elements spanning millennia, it's possible the Ego Stone can play a part in the story.
Now, that doesn't mean the Ego Stone or Thanos will appear or even be mentioned in Eternals. But as we all know, Marvel Studios have a habit of planting plot devices in their films years before it pays off e.g. Mysterio's tech in Civil War, Loki's Sceptre housing the Space Stone, etc. This may sound like wishful thinking but the last decade of the MCU has proven that anything is possible - even the resurrection of the Infinity Stone time forgot.
