7 Villains Batman Has NEVER Defeated

5. Prometheus

Not only was Batman unable to beat Prometheus, but the rogue managed to take down the entire Justice League at one point in time.

Sneaking into the JLA Watchtower after posing as a competition winner - yes, that really happened - the villain systematically took down each individual member of this team of heroes.

When it came to Batman, the Caped Crusader was brutally smashed around by Prometheus after the no-good sort had downloaded the fighting abilities of the 30 best martial artists on the planet directly into his helmet and nervous system. Adding salt to the wound, one of these martial artists was actually Batman - meaning the Dark Knight was beaten to a pulp by his own moves!

On that day, Prometheus would eventually be stopped thanks to Catwoman arriving to whip him in his balls - again, yes, that really happened - but the villain would again get the upper hand the next time he'd face off against Batman.

In that next meeting, Batman had to call in assistance from his fellow heroes in order to finally take Prometheus down - and Bats would actually stop Huntress from killing Prometheus, as the rogue was deemed such a threat by Huntress.

Tragedy was around the corner, as Prometheus would eventually put a plan in motion that killed thousands of Star City citizens, including the daughter of Roy Harper. As a result of this, Green Arrow would break his own rule and kill Prometheus as an act of gnarly revenge.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic. Between his main dayjob, his role as the lead panel host of Wales Comic Con, and his gig as a pre-match host for Wrexham AFC games, Andrew has also carried out a hugely varied amount of interviews, from the likes of Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Adrienne Barbeau, Rob Zombie, Katharine Isabelle, Leigh Whannell, Bruce Campbell, and Tony Todd, to Kevin Smith, Ron Perlman, Elijah Wood, Giancarlo Esposito, Simon Pegg, Charlie Cox, the Russo Brothers, and Brian Blessed, to Kevin Conroy, Paul Dini, Tara Strong, Will Friedle, Burt Ward, Andrea Romano, Frank Miller, and Rob Liefeld, to Bret Hart, Sting, Mick Foley, Ricky Starks, Jamie Hayer, Britt Baker, Eric Bischoff, and William Regal, to Mickey Thomas, Joey Jones, Phil Parkinson, Brian Flynn, Denis Smith, Gary Bennett, Karl Connolly, and Bryan Robson - and that's just the tip of an ever-expanding iceberg.
