3. The Batman Who Laughs
We all know that Batman lives on a razor's edge between sanity and insanity. Seeing him inexorably fall off of that edge and become this incredible new character would be impossible to turn away from. This is what happened to The Batman Who Laughs, an alternate version of Batman introduced in the 2017-2018 event: Dark Nights Metal.
After being exposed to a concentrated dose of Joker toxin, Batman slowly begins succumbing to the same insanity that afflicted his greatest villain. This led to a character with the intelligence and training of Batman and the insanity and absent morality of the Joker.
A movie could explore Batman's slow descent into this character and/or how his closest friends and allies deal with one of the greatest threats the world has ever seen. He can serve as a nigh-unstoppable villain as he was in Dark Nights Metal or he can be the main focus of a tragedy.
