Never to be upstaged by their intergalactic nemesis, the Ripley botherin', acid blood havin' xenomorph has also encountered The Caped Crusader. Three times, in fact. The first two-part series was released in 1998 and was written by famed Green Lantern scribe Ron Marz, with beautifully terrifying artwork by horror comic legend Bernie Wrightson (Swamp Thing). The story found Batman investigating the disappearance of a Wayne Enterprises geologist in the jungle near the Guatemala/Mexico border. He encounters an American Special-Ops team, who are hunting a target: the xenomorphs. At one point, Batman and Hyatt, the surviving special ops agent, face a giant alien/crocodile hybrid, which is equal parts horrifying and a bit ridiculous. Naturally, as is the case in pretty much every Alien story ever, Hyatt believes that if she can steal a facehugger specimen and bring it back to the government, then they can weaponise the alien and win all the wars/make loads of money. Ah, the hubris of man. The croc-alien kills her though, which definitely throws a spanner in the works of her masterplan. The end of the story sees Batman drop two specimen jars containing facehuggers into the murky depths at the bottom of the Batcave, believing they are too dangerous because of man's desire to control them. Good call, Bats. The second miniseries was released in 2002/2003, and told the tale of a construction crew unearthing a secret laboratory where the last survivor of an Antarctic expedition tried to seal away the evil he had brought back to Gotham. The alien escaped, of course, and all hell broke loose. Batman also teamed with Superman to take on the combined might of the Predator and Aliens in 2007, so the Man Of Steel even has previous with these pesky alien killing machines.
