8 Comic Book Characters Who Broke The Joker

3. Ace - Justice League

Sadly, due to Warner Bros' ill-thought 'Bat-Embargo', Joker only appeared on Justice League for a couple of episodes. His final appearance involved a reimagining of the Royal Flush Gang, who in the DC Animated Universe were metahumans captured by the US government. As most things do, it ended terribly - at least for Joker.

One of the freed metahumans was a young girl called Ace. Ace was the strongest of the group as she possessed a potent form of telepathy. The Clown Prince decided that he could use her as a weapon to turn the entire populace insane, and he would've succeeded - if not for the efforts of Batman and the Justice League.

Joker was playing a dangerous game manipulating Ace, and Batman was able to exploit it in their final confrontation in the series. The Dark Knight shows Ace that her saviour had actually been in possession of a power dampening headband to use against her, and this leads Ace to turn all her powers against Joker, somehow turning him even more insane than he was already.

DCAU continuity dictates that Joker recovers from this mental attack, but at the time? You'd be forgiven for thinking that was it for the villain...
