8 Fastest Superheroes

6. Quicksilver

Quicksilver Scarlet Witch
Marvel Comics

Quicksilver may not have been fast enough to evade death in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but he's still one of Marvel's premier speedsters and a cracking character in his own right.

Able to break the sound barrier on a whim, the character - a mutant in the comics, and the son of Magneto - can move up to speeds of Mach 11, easily outpacing all manned aircraft and allowing the character to create his own whether affects too, having used cyclones to disrupt his enemies in the comics while operating on either side of the X-Men-Brotherhood conflict.

Interesting to note is that Quicksilver actually had his power levels increased by the High Evolutionary, who exposed him to a compound known as Isotope E. That's what originally allowed him to reach those higher-tier Mach levels, and though the comics have always done a fantastic job of showing this on the page, it was X-Men: Days of Future Past and its follow up Apocalypse that best clued us all in on how the character sees the world at those kinds of speeds.

He might not be the fastest man alive, but Pietro Maximoff is still one of the quickest out there.
