8 Reasons Why The Marvel Legacy Return Is Nothing To Be Excited About

2. We Never Actually Missed Him

We were never given the chance to miss Wolverine, as new versions of the character stepped in to take his place.

When Wolverine died just a few short years ago, it was hardly like we got a moment's rest to appreciate the loss of the character or what that might mean for the Marvel Universe.

Because spinning out of the series in which he died came a new limited title that looked at who would be the new Wolverine. Ultimately, this wound up being Laura Kinney, Wolverine's clone who is sometimes treated as a younger sister and sometimes like a daughter, depending on who's writing the story.

Shortly after she took the mantle of Wolverine, we also had Marvel's next major event, Secret Wars, that ultimately wound up bringing Old Man Logan (from the hugely popular Mark Millar and Steve McNiven story of the same name) into the Marvel Universe. It was as if he never left in the first place.

All in all, Marvel didn't even give readers the chance to miss Logan, because dead or not, there were Wolverines left, right and centre popping their claws to fill the void.
