8 Strangest Alternate Versions Of Spider-Man

1. Spider-Man Fairy Tales

Spider-Man Fairy Tales was a four issue miniseries featuring four new alternate versions of Spider-Man, all based on popular fairy tales such as Red Riding Hood and the African folklore tale of Anansi.

It's all very tongue in cheek stuff, meant to poke fun at both Spidey and the source material its parodying. The final tale of the four, however, is a little too faithful. Issue #4 is a retelling of Cinderella, with Harry and Norman Osborn filling the roles of the wicked stepsisters and Peter Parker taking on the role of Cinderella, hoping to win the hand of princess Gwen Stacy.

After both his father and Uncle Ben are killed in a skirmish, Peter's father begs Norman to take Peter into his care - because apparently a guy who dresses up like a goblin on the battlefield is a great guy to trust with such a task.

For the most part, it's a very faithful retelling of Cinderella - except for the part where Peter crashes the ball in blue and red spider-armour and accidentally gets Gwen killed. On the plus side, afterwards he dons a sweet Secret Wars-esque black armour out of grief and kills people for the king. Classic Spider-Man.
