9 Most Inappropriate Comic Book Couples

9. Shadowcat And Colossus

When Kitty Pryde made her first appearance in Uncanny X-men way back in 1980, she expressed an instant attraction to Piotr Rasputin, aka Colossus. She officially joined the team at the end of the storyline, and a mutual crush was quickly established between the two. With Kitty joining the team at the same time that Jean Grey died (well, the first time), the pair quickly became the book's central romantic leads. But although Colossus had already been established as the youngest member of the team before Kitty's arrival, it was clear from the writing that he was at least eighteen years old. Kitty, meanwhile, was repeatedly stated to be only 14 years old. Although writer Chris Claremont seemed intent that love between two people should not have to bow to society€™s standards, things were never going to be easy for the pair. And although the age gap between the characters didn't bother Kitty, Piotr at least had some reservations. At one point, Kitty even propositioned Piotr, arguing that if she were older it wouldn't matter. Which was kind of the point. And even though Colossus refused to sleep with Kitty based on her age, he was still perfectly happy to engage in extended make-out sessions with her.

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
