9 Worst Things Kingpin Has Done To Daredevil

Charles Soule's Daredevil has been one of the unsung heroes of Marvel's recent years. Sporting a new black and red get-up and a career on the other side of the legal aisle as an assistant District Attorney, Matt (with his secret identity again intact) has been back to his best. More fascinating, however, is the way that Soule has marshalled the character's history - he manages to encapsulate all aspects of the hero, from the supernatural to the swashbuckling, without it ever feeling dissonant.

Soule, taking inspiration from his own career as a lawyer, has also made strides in the comic's courtroom drama. Murdock, establishing himself as a key force on the New York circuit, introduces an appeal to the Supreme Court which would allow costumed crimefighters to testify in court without disclosing their true identity. It's even successful... until the Kingpin gets involved.

Following on from the calamitous events of Secret Empire, Fisk runs on an anti-vigilante platform to become mayor of New York. His first act is to eliminate Daredevil, but while Hell's Kitchen's vigilante manages to escape arrest, he's forced to become a fugitive in a city that once welcomed him.

The Man Without Fear might be mounting a comeback, but having decades worth of public service ruined by a politically ambitious mafioso has to hurt.
