6. Ultimates2 #100 – The Ultimate Ultimates

Another example of a note I thought of well ahead of time – this was the natural meeting point of two ideas; one, that the current Marvel Multiverse was actually its eighth iteration, which is a concept I came up with, bizarrely, to help promote a mobile game, but stuck with once I saw all the story possibilities it brought – and two, that the Marvel Universe (and Multiverse) is represented by a humanoid starfield named Eternity.

Put that together, and you get a whole superteam of Multiverses. I had so much fun writing the descriptions for each member, packing them full of little references and associations – and obviously, this opens the door to some massive stories down the line.
