Batman: 10 Awful Villains The Dark Knight Should Be Ashamed Of

5. The Jokerz

While an interesting take on the lasting legacy of Batman, Batman Beyond sometimes felt cold with how unfamiliar the world was. Gotham was barely recognisable, supporting characters were brand new bar a couple of familiar faces, and Batman wasn€™t even Bruce Wayne. As previously mentioned, the show did have some familiar faces in classic villains like Mr. Freeze, Ra€™s Al Ghul and Bane. These ventures into Batman€™s past usually resulted in the series€™ best episodes, but some felt like like a watered down re-hash.

The Jokerz are an intriguing concept. It goes without saying that the most notorious villain in Gotham€™s legacy, The Joker, would influence young wannabe criminals long after his death. The only problem is that this gang did little else bar laugh, wear make-up and ride around on loud motorbikes. The group€™s most interesting aspect was brining new recruits to the remains of the Joker, but this does little to help the fact that their hero casts a very long and iconic shadow that is impossible to move out of.

As a pretty nerdy guy, I've loved film and television since I was a wee lad. Growing up in Ireland, The Den was the show to watch with it playing Batman The Animated Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation and everything in between. I have an MA in Radio and Television Production and have written for various sites, hope you enjoy my articles/lists for What Culture!
