3. David Xanatos (Gargoyles)
If you aren't familiar with David Xanatos (which, to be honest, I think will be the case for most people) he is the main antagonist of the Disney animated television series
Gargoyles. In the series, he is the founder, owner and CEO of Xanatos Enterprises (a potential rival to Wayne Enterprises, perhaps?) and a member of the Illuminati thanks to his high social standing and incredible intellect. He is ruthless and amoral and his plans are often intricate and Machiavellian - making him a very interesting villain for Batman on a preparatory level. He is obsessed with obtaining immortality for himself and his family and will stop at nothing to gain it - which could result in him clashing with the dark knight. Xanatos is also a formidable fighter in his own right. In addition to advanced karate and judo skills, he also has a specialized red armoured suit which would likely be too much for Batman in a straight up battle, but I'm sure Batman would relish the challenge regardless.
