Batman's 9 Greatest Failures

3. Ra's destroys the Justice League

As Batman's status in the larger DC universe grew, so did his paranoia. Bruce Wayne has plans for every eventuality and is consistently one step ahead of his enemies; be they bank robbers or shapeshifting, superpowered, telepathic Martians.

When a group of Demi-Gods set up shop on the surface of the moon and become the arbiters of what is "just" in the world, Bruce has no choice but to plan for the chance that they will become a threat to Earth - even if he counts himself among their number and that these people are supposedly his friends.

When immortal criminal mastermind Ra's al Ghul comes up with a plan to dwindle the Earth's population, it requires keeping the Justice League at bay. Stealing Batman's secret files and strategies on how to take down each member of the League is only viable if you have the money and resources to put the plans into motion.

Fortunately, Ra's has that money and resources to hand, and within a matter of hours he had taken down the most powerful beings on Earth - all thanks to Batman and his ability to plan for every contingency.
