Doomsday Clock #1: 10 Things Everyone Totally Missed

3. The Tumour

Part of Ozymandias' plot involved making the world believe Doctor Manhattan was causing cancer in those closest to him. Now he has cancer too. Coincidence?

The tumour itself sits in the skull in the X-Ray image at a position more than slightly reminiscent of the Doomsday Clock at minutes to midnight itself, highlighting another ticking clock in this story.

However, there's also a peculiar irony to it. After all, the idea that Doctor Manhattan was causing cancer in those closest to him was merely a fiction concocted by Ozymandias to push Manhattan out of the way of his plans.

Now, Ozymandias has cancer and it is killing him. Such an ironic situation feels more than mere coincidence, surely. Either it's a genuine karmic circumstance, or perhaps someone purposefully caused the cancer?

Perhaps Doctor Manhattan isn't as above human notions like revenge as he suggests.
