If you're wondering what specific comic that Endgame was paying homage to when Cap finally lifted Mjolnir, the answer is nowhere near as simple as you might think. The fact is that there are tons of times when Steve has picked up Mjolnir, as he is the only Avenger besides Thor himself that is the most worthy of using it.
The first time Cap ever lifted Mjolnir was in Thor #390, when Steve was operating under the identity of The Captain due to events in his own book at the time.
Thor and Cap were mixed up with the Egyptian God of death, and while Thor was busy with Set's minions, Cap had to think of a way to turn the tide in their favor. So, seeing no other play to make but the risky one, he reached for Mjolnir and, for the first time, lifted Mjolnir to defeat Set's goons.
It was a defining moment for the character, and Cap would take up Mjolnir in dire situations many times afterward.
