Green Lantern: 10 Greatest Characters (And 1 That Sucked)

7. Kilowog

gl_kilowog_by_marcbourcier.d5h68wn As the drill instructor for the Green Lantern Corps, it was Kilowog's job to teach all new recruits what it took to be a member of the Corps but also to make them understand what it is they're sacrificing, they must understand that their very lives are on the line. As the last of his kind, Kilowog knows loss all too well but the pathos we, as readers, are made to feel is made all the more heart wrenching as he expresses how each and every Lantern that falls in the line of duty is another dagger in his heart. He trained them, they died so he must have failed them in some way. He may be the hard nosed, battle hardened Sgt. but in a very real sense, Kilowog is the father of the Green Lantern Corps. The loss he feels when any die, the pride that surges through him when they succeed is something any dad could relate to.
