Marvel: 10 Alternate Universes That Deserve To Be Onscreen
7. A Cyberpunk Future (Marvel 2099)
There are already a lot of fans that want to see more of Miguel O'Hara, more so when he appeared in Spider-Verse's hilarious and epic after-credits scene.
Marvel 2099 as a whole, however, brings a lot of interesting concepts to the fore, with multiple heroes fighting against a dystopian corporate police state ruled by megacorporations (that feels depressingly more like reality than science fiction at this point) as incarnations of classic Marvel characters.
Some examples include a version of Doctor Doom that appeared in Latveria after he had disappeared almost a century earlier, eventually working to take down Latveria's dictator as a freedom fighter; a Hulk that was a studio executive that got caught up with worshippers of the original Hulk; and a living Artificial Intelligence hacker version of Ghost Rider.
Other heroes may be transplanted into this universe despite not having had a run in the 2099 comics, and their stories have the potential to deliver some punchy social commentary and excellent film or TV if done well.
