Marvel Legacy: 9 Biggest Changes It Will Bring

7. The Return Of Tony Stark

Marvel Legacy
Marvel Comics

The last time we saw Tony Stark in Marvel Comics continuity he was wasn't looking too good.

Following an epic battle with Captain Marvel in Civil War II, the original Iron Man was left comatose after suffering injuries that would have killed a mere mortal.

Okay, so Stark is technically mortal, but it turns out that all of the mad scientist-esque experiments he carried out on his own body over the years ultimately saved his life.

But the bad news for Tony is that his battered form ended up in the custody of SHIELD and HydraCap, encased in some kind of weird tech cocoon.

Invincible Iron Man joins Marvel Legacy with issue #593 in a plotline Marvel is calling 'The Search for Tony Stark'.

Well, there's nothing cryptic about that. It seems Stark's successor in the iron armour, Riri Williams, will attempt to track him down and liberate him when the new era dawns.
