The main story of Secret Wars will pick up where the last issues of Avengers and New Avengers left off. That's where Iron Man and Captain America, finally pitched against each other in a fair fight (as opposed to Civil War), duked it out until it seemed like one might finally kill the other... and then an alternate Earth appeared on the horizon with attack ships. It started with two men, the narration went. One was life... and the other one was death. And one... always wins. Everything dies. And then: THERE IS ONLY SECRET WARS. That's a pretty big set up. But that's also about all that's readers know about the main Secret Wars book so far. Presumably, it'll be a multiversal mash-up of the main events, as with the main books for most crossovers. Secret Wars will be written by Jonathan Hickman, drawn by his Avengers cohort Esad Ribi, has painted covers by Alex Ross, and the limited series of eight issues is expected to take five months to come out. What actually happens in the book, though? Top secret. Probably more Reed Richards trying to save everyone whilst Tony and Steve wrassle.
