Origins Of 10 Different Lantern Corps And Their Oaths

The most recent addition to the Lantern Corps is the Ultraviolet Lantern Corps. It is the Lantern Corps of unseen light, part of the "Invisible Emotional Spectrum". This invisible light feeds off the hidden feelings of others like hate, shame, blood-lust and drains its opponents to create monsters out of light.

A dark emotional entity called Umbrax is a timeless primordial force of the cosmos connected to and acting as the centre of the Invisible Spectrum. It can move through space without being seen and is drawn towards planets with self-destructive forces in play, to absorb them into its galaxy and turn its inhabitants into Ultraviolet Lantern Corps.

Umbrax controls the corps rather than the wearer controlling their own emotions, although with some exceptions.

As of now, the proper origin of the Ultraviolet Corps is still unclear. All we really know so far is that Umbrax and the Ultraviolet Light were locked away but the recent destruction of the Source Wall, along with the discovery of the Still Force, allowed Sinestro to access it. Instead of locking it back away as his younger self would have done, Sinestro helped unleash Umbrax upon Earth.
