Sinestro Corps: 10 Non-DC Characters Who Could Wear The Yellow Ring Of Fear

1. Freddy Krueger (Nightmare On Elm Street)

Freddy-Krueger Freddy Krueger is the ultimate figure of fear and more broadly represents subconscious fears (which are the worst kind, right?). He's a horrible individual, who in life was a paedophile and child killer, and was killed by a mob of angry local parents who became aware of his disgusting deeds. However, the fearful reputation he developed gave him the power to haunt children's nightmares even after his death, which subsequently gave him control over their dreams and the terrifying ability to kill them in their dreams while they slept. He has been the subject of several nightmares in the real world since his first movie - 1984's A Nightmare on Elm Street - and is generally considered to be the ultimate horror icon. Whether it's is super-powered, reality-warping dream self or his knived-fingered and horrifically burned real world self, Freddie would make for an awesome Sinestro Corps member. Combining the powers of a yellow ring with his dream powers would make him nigh-unstoppable. I'll leave you with this quote from the psycho himself from 2003's Freddy Vs Jason: Quote:"My children... from the very beginning, it was the children who gave me my power. The Springwood Slasher, that's what they called me. My reign of terror was legendary. Dozens of children would fall by my blades. Then the parents of Springwood came for me, taking justice into their own hands. When I was alive, I might have been a little naughty but, after they killed me, I became something much, much worse. The stuff nightmares are made of. The children still feared me, and their fear gave me the power to invade their dreams, and that's when the fun REALLY began. Until they figured out a way to forget about me. To erase me completely. Being dead wasn't a problem, but being forgotten, now that's a BITCH. I can't come back if nobody remembers me. I can't come back if nobody's afraid. I had to search the bowels of Hell, but I found someone, someone who'll make 'em remember. He may get the blood, but I'll get the glory, and that fear is my ticket home." Terrifying. Do you agree with this list?
