2. He's A Legacy Villain
Characters that have had multiple individuals act under the same name are often referred to as Legacy Characters, and his apparent death led to a series of other villains taking up the mantle as The Vulture over the years.
Two of the Vulture's cellmates have gotten the information they needed to become The Vulture directly from the Adrian Toomes. Toomes is always shown being surprised and hateful of his cellmates once they inevitably betray him. One of these cellmates, Honcho, took this information and started a Vulture based gang called the Vulturions, which is still active with Marvel comics today.
In addition to characters simply stealing the costume or design, two characters following the legacy have transformed into to birdlike characters. These monstrous creatures have also gone under the pseudonym of The Vulture. The most recent one, Jimmy Natale, was murdered by The Punisher.
Despite the many others that have taken the name, Adrian Toomes remains the most prominent Vulture and always returns to take back the title.
