Spider-Man: 10 Ways Miles Morales Is Eclipsing Peter Parker

5. He's More Relatable As A Person Now

When I was growing up, one of the things I loved about Spider-Man was just how relatable Peter Parker was to a young boy. Without being blessed by easy popularity or effortless charm, he became a beacon of hope for the similarly downtrodden as he managed to rise up and remain a paragon of goodness with his abilities.

Now that he's become the CEO of a huge company, that zero to hero story has taken a turn for the Hollywood. His star has risen meteorically, to the point where his personal success feels less and less relatable to everyday readers. He's still the same personality and that will never change, but sadly we get to see less of that as he has to play the role of a junior Tony Stark.

None of these issues affect Miles, who is dealing with many of the same early problems that Peter would have at that age. Add to this the fact that he faces other diverse struggles and we find that Miles Morales is now feeling a lot more like the icon that Pete was to adolescent readers.

This heart is a big deal in a Spider-Man story, and it's just a bit more obvious in Miles' stories right now.
