What Happened To Everyone Who Joined The Birds Of Prey?

2. Strix

Penguin Birds of Prey
DC Comics

One of the absolute coolest additions to the Gotham City mythos was the introduction of the Court of Owls by Scott Snyder. The Court is an aristocratic cult claiming to be the rightful heirs to Gotham city, and thus have very specific plans for their beloved city. Mary Turner was one of their Talons, highly trained, immortal assassins that they keep preserved until they are in need of their services.

Mary Turner's home was burned to the ground in the 1940s by a Japanese hot air balloon that contained explosives. She was then inducted into the Court of Owls and kept preserved until they unleashed her against the bat family.

After her reformation, Batgirl recommends her for the Birds of Prey, which Black Canary is HEAVILY against. To the point where Black Canary loses control of her powers and wipes the Gotham City power station off the map. Fortunately, the two were eventually able to settle their differences, helped by Mr. Freeze and the turncoat Starling providing a common enemy.

Strix is a fantastic character and addition to the Birds of Prey, and I can't wait to see more of her.
