What Happened To Everyone Who Joined The Birds Of Prey?

12. Cassandra Cain

Penguin Birds of Prey
DC Comics

From here on out, I'm leaving behind the core members and looking at the ones that aren't technically part of main operations, but that Oracle calls in whenever things get too dicey for just Huntress and Black Canary.

To understand Cassandra Cain is to take everything the Birds of Prey movie established about her besides her ethnicity, and apply the exact opposite. In this case, Cassandra is an assassin who can fight the entire Bat Family to a stand still, trained her entire life to be the deadliest killing machine on the planet. She CAN talk, but only barely, since her adoptive father trained her to communicate through body language. Specifically the violent kind.

One of the more infuriating things about the New 52 is that it walked back on almost all of Cass' character development that she had done in the decade since her inception. Fortunately, the Rebirth initiative has been giving her some more love with books like Detective Comics and more recently, Outsiders. While she hasn't really interacted with the Birds since the reboot, hopefully that will change in the coming years.
