What Happened To Everyone Who Killed Spider-Man?

Where to even begin with Morlun?

The early 2000s was a strange time for Spider-Man comics, with J. Michael Straczynski penning The Amazing Spider-Man for the best part of six years. To say it was a mixed bag for Straczynski is an understatement; for every beautiful, poignant 9/11 story, there was utter guff like One More Day.

Firmly in the 'mixed bag' category, Straczynski at this time created a new uber-rogue dubbed Morlun. The character and elements of his mission objective were hugely intriguing, but that was then let down by some oft-questionable writing and twists.

Either way, Morlun was a bad, bad dude who had spanned the multiverse, killing numerous Spider-Totems, aka a bunch of beings, like Spider-Man, who are all tied to the Web of Life and Destiny.

In The Other, this vicious rogue beats Spider-Man to a pulp, tears out one of Peter's eyes, then follows him to the hospital to finish the job. There, Parker transforms into a literal giant spider and rips out his foe's throat, before dying from his previous wounds.

Well, until we'd later seem Spidey regenerate from a cocoon because, well, because early 2000s Spider-Man.
