10 2016 Movie Characters Who Probably Died Horrible Deaths

1. Either Jim Or Aurora - Passengers

10 Cloverfield Lane Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Columbia Pictures

Passengers ends with Jim (Chris Pratt) and Aurora (Jennifer Laurence) managing to fix one of the malfunctioning stasis pods, but agreeing to spend their lives together rather than one of them successfully return to stasis while the other lives out their life in loneliness.

Though we never see the two as old people, the final scene, set 88 years later, shows the Starship Avalon's crew and passengers waking up, after Jim and Aurora have died, to see the beautiful garden they have created in their absence.

Still, consider that either Jim or Aurora had to die first, and so the other then had to not only bury their partner but live the rest of their lives without any human contact whatsoever.

What if one of them died of a disease or sudden illness at a relatively young age? That's potentially a long time without human contact, which may have even driven the survivor to commit suicide by ejecting themselves into space. These are all just possibilities, of course.

Ideally, they both died at the same time (though that'd be quite a startling sight to the waking passengers), but this ain't quite The Notebook.

Which probable character death from 2016 is the most disturbing? Got any of your own? Shout them out in the comments!
