10 2017 Movies That Could Score 100% On Rotten Tomatoes

If there’s a recurring theme in Sofia Coppola’s work it’s that being rich and privileged can be boring; which is something mainstream audiences have a hard time sympathising with. That might explain why her recent work hasn’t done great business, but she’s a talented director and it sounds like she’ll be breaking new ground with her next movie.

She’ll be helming a remake of the 1971 Clint Eastwood movie The Beguiled, about a wounded Union soldier who winds up taking shelter in an all-girl boarding school. The movie is one of Clint’s lesser seen efforts, being a creepy psychosexual drama where he seduces some of the women there, and they all turn on each other - and him - in jealousy.

Coppola’s version will have Colin Farrell playing the lead, with Elle Fanning, Kirsten Dunst and Nicole Kidman as the women who go crazy over him. If it all comes together, this could be Coppola’s return to the spotlight, and a critical favourite.
