5. Critters (1986)
A farm is attacked by aliens called Krites, who broke out of a space prison that alternate between rolling balls of fluff and angry little things with big mouths. Two alien bounty hunters head to earth to take them down before they start reproducing. For one of the many films about small monsters attacking isolated locations, this has stood out, being remembered by my age group. It managed to get three sequels, so somebody must be considering a reboot. The appeal would be that the film could get a bigger budget, so the effects could be better. A plot device in the film, is the Krites got bigger the more they ate, giving another way for the threat to escalate. The original has humour while keeping the tension, so they should not need to worry about being dark and serious.
